Whenever your friends break your best race time or achieve a higher score, the Autolog will automatically update you. Essentially this is a built-in social media application just for the Need for Speed Hot Pursuit world. Outside of the gameplay is the new Autolog feature. As for the helicopter and EMP, these items were not unlocked in the demo. Spike strips are extremely effective, and can easily take out a racer that tries to knock you off the road. I found the roadblocks to be useful if you need to catch up to a group of racers, but it's not very effective against one of them. Rather than simple smash and grab procedures, you can now call in road blocks or helicopter support, drop spike strips and use EMPs. The gameplay itself is like prior Need for Speedinstallments however, you get added features as an officer. The menu interface is usually not a big deal to most people, but I also found this to be one of the easier ones to navigate, and it looks like a cross between Twitter and Tron. The graphics in this cutscene are absolutely amazing - the first time you saw N64 graphics amazing - and it only degrades slightly during the actual game.

Accruing bounty will allow players to unlock events and exotic cars and progress through their careers in the full game. When they download and play the demo they will also earn 500 bounty award points in the full game for both Cop and Racer careers**.

Once players add a friend to their Need for Speed friends list, the second event will unlock called Roadsters Reborn, where gamers can compete as racers to set the best times. At the heart of the demo is a social network called Autolog that tracks cop and racer performances while playing solo and uses those statistics to generate fierce competition between friends. In the Need for Speed Hot Pursuit demo, players will be able to chase as a cop in the Dark Horse Hot Pursuit event, speeding through the coastal highway and mountainous ridges of Seacrest County. Giving gamers an incentive to use it will definitely keep it going. It’s clear that this demo is being used to test the Autolog functionality and hopefully it will play out well. The demo even has an unlockable that you can obtain by inviting someone to race with you through the Autolog feature. The new in-game technology makes personalized recommendations to gamers based on what their friends have been playing. The cool thing about Need For Speed is their new social networking feature called Autoblog. You can consider it to be more of a short beta. The demo however, is only going to be available for a limited time and will end on November 9th.
